Wenbro is a growing family-run business that is built on and around light plant equipment. Wenbro Hires, Sells, Repairs (and services) as well as Manufactures a range of ‘small’ construction and outdoor equipment and trailers. Offering equipment hire meant that we had to source quality equipment, this naturally lead us to offer the equipment in our hire fleets for sale to the public, which was closely followed by offering servicing, spares and repairs. But that special something that sets us apart is our capability to manufacture much of our own equipment, allowing Wenbro the flexibility to offer affordable pricing and hire rates and ensure consistent quality. Building and producing equipment also means we have the in-house expertise to maintain and service our equipment to the highest standard.
An interesting philosophy has set clear boundaries for which equipment ranges we produce, stock and hold in our hire fleet: Since the start of Wenbro’s entry into equipment hire, a simple rule of thumb was to ask ourselves “Can it fit on the back of a bakkie? Or can it fit onto a trailer and be towed by a bakkie?” If so, we’ve probably got it. And we’ve stuck to that rule ever since, staying in our lane and specialising in the equipment ranges we stock, keeping focus on our areas of expertise.
Wenbro started out in Polokwane where our head office is today with branches currently located in Pretoria and Johannesburg.
Passionate about helping customers succeed on every project, we aim to deliver the equipment our customers need with as little hassle and as much hustle as possible (within the law #speedingfines). But in real terms, we do our best to get to each and every one of our customers as soon as we can. Because we understand the clock is always ticking and time is money, Wenbro goes as far as possible to offer same day delivery as the rule, not the exception.
We do our best to maintain our hire fleet and keep equipment in top condition. We prioritise maintaining high-performing equipment and avoid recycling tired machines that no longer meet our standards. We’re here to offer quick turnaround and breakdown support when you need us, with the firm belief that your equipment supplier should be committed to keeping your site on the move.
And of course, nothing great can be done without a great team, this is why we believe in investing in the growth and development of the Wenbro team. Organisational growth is only possible through empowering people and giving them opportunity, which is why skills development and training are foundational to our strategy and philosophy for growth.

What separates us from the rest?
Wenbro has what we call our ‘Core 4’ – Hire, Sales, Repairs & Manufacture. We want to be the single point of contact that offers solutions that meet the diverse needs of South Africa. Many companies offer one of the ‘Core 4’ but not many do them all.
Hire
Hire is an affordable way to access the equipment and tools needed by the many industries we serve, without the need for a massive cash outlay that puts purchasing outside of the reach of many ordinary hard working South Africans. Placing emphasis on great customer service, driven by maintaining a well stocked, quality hire fleet, always ensuring rapid response to breakdowns and prioritising turnaround time on all orders.
Sales
Because we had to ensure a supply of quality equipment at affordable prices in order to keep our hire fleet up to standard, we naturally saw the opportunity to offer this equipment to our customers who had the need to purchase and own their own equipment. We have been unchanging in our belief that we need to offer affordable equipment that removes financial pressure from our customer allowing them to grow their own fleet of equipment.
Repair
Maintenance is key to getting the most from your equipment. We always aim to offer high level after-sales support and service, doing our best to add to the value and convenience of your purchase from Wenbro by offering Repairs, Servicing and Spares all under one roof. Each branch has an in-house workshop with the technical expertise needed to diagnose, repair and service any equipment purchased from Wenbro. We have expert technicians that maintain our hire fleet, and we thought why not make this expertise available to our valued customers.
Manufacture
The capability, skills and knowledge necessary to manufacture are the foundation of how we do what we do at Wenbro. Vertically integrating our supply chain to ensure consistency and improve our ability to produce quality equipment while reducing our reliance on third party equipment suppliers. We also offer the peace of mind to our customers that if we are able to build this equipment, we are without doubt capable of repairing and maintaining it, both in our hire fleet and for our purchasing customers.
